Learn about the history of the burning of the British ship, the Gaspee by reading this link. Every year, there is a Gaspee Days parade in the village of Pawtuxet. This year it will be the weekend of June 13 and 14.

To kick off the Rhode Island Yacht Club’s education series, Drew Dzykewicz put on a working seminar on how to download and use the SeaClear II program. This software is free, and does most of what the high-end navigation packages do.
For those of you who missed the seminar, but would like to know how to do this, visit our new page on the SeaClear software, which is a free navigational chart plotting program that ties into your GPS to enable you to plot courses anywhere you wish. There will be pre-plotted courses available for the most common routes along Narragannsett Bay.
